Nintendo Stalks Target Shoppers with Wii Fit Plus
Nintendo is 'targeting' fat people with demo kiosks for its Wii Fit Plus personal trainer software. On weekends from Jan. 16-31, shoppers at certain Target stores in the USA will encounter the Wii Fit Plus Experience in the parking lot or at the entrance. Each location will feature eight kiosks where visitors can get some "feet-on" time with the Wii Fit Plus software in an atmosphere reminiscent of a yoga studio.
Visitors will be able to try out the various balance games found in Wii Fit Plus, which uses the Wii Balance Board accessory to input controls for minigames. Wii Fit Plus includes the original Wii Fit activities as well as 20 new activities, customizable workout routines and a way to track the number of calories burned. Nintendo and Target ambassadors will be on hand to provide visitors with demos, information and free healthy snacks.
Just in case people are too fat and lazy to even try the game, visitors who complete the demo will be given a Target GiftCard valued at $15 that can be applied toward any Target purchase.
