Nano Assault Neo

Nintendo Wii U eShop Review
Publisher: Majesco
Developer: Shin'en
Released: November 2012

The developer Shin'en has totally outdone themselves with the polished dual-stick shooter that is Nano Assault Neo. Needless to say, if you are looking for a reason to really test a game out on the Nintendo eShop, then this has to be one of the top choices.

Nano Assault Neo is the sequel to the original Nano Assault that launched on the Nintendo 3DS handheld roughly a year ago.

In Nano Assault Neo, your goal is to basically fly around and kill all of the viruses in your path with a wide array of weapons and some tremendous level design.

The game is all based around the classic shooter foundation. You will be utilizing both of the analog sticks on the Wii U controller to be able to maneuver with your vehicle. All of the levels are fully 3D a la Super Mario Galaxy, and you will be able to travel across them in any fashion that you choose.

The game is a joy to play with movement being controlled by the left analog stick, while the shooting is done with the right. You can move in one direction and shoot in another, allowing you total control over your blasters at all times.

The game is an absolute joy to play as it looks gorgeous on the Nintendo Wii U. The visual quality is going to blow you away as the action is absolutely intense with tons of enemies on-screen at once. The colors and special effects will light up your screens in beautiful HD and will really have you on the edge of your seat.

This coupled in with the very fast-paced gameplay and the ability to really challenge yourself with its difficulty make for a joy of a gaming experience for any arcade shooting fan.

The game makes good use of the Nintendo Wii U GamePad as well as you have a few options that you can utilize it for. If you want to play on your TV, the GamePad can be utilized for a radar as well as to manage special attacks you have earned. You also have the ability to play the entire game off-screen on the GamePad if you choose.

The game supports a few game modes which will have you really fighting for high scores as well as good gaming sessions with your friends.

Nano Assault Neo packs some great value coming in at a very reasonable price tag, you really can't do much better for under $10 to be quite honest on the Nintendo Wii U right now.

Shin'en has dome a terrific job with Nano Assault Neo and they are showing that the Nintendo eShop can really shine with quality gaming experiences. If you are a Nintendo Wii U owner, Nano Assault Neo is a must-buy!
