Konami Announces GTI Club For Nintendo Wii
Konami has today announced that it will release an updated version of its popular arcade racing game GTI Club. The game, whose complete title is GTI Club Supermini Festa!, will be headed to the Wii and PSP systems this Spring. Konami says that GTI Club Supermini Festa! will allow to race customizable cars across various terrains in locations around the world. This release follows up on last year's GTi Club Plus, which was a successful PSN remake of the original arcade game.
In fact, judging from the features list, there is nothing particular 'Mini' about GTI Club for the Wii. The game features 16 fully customizable real-world cars from manufacturers like Peugeot, Volkswagen and Abarth. Supermini Festa! has a variety of courses staged in five different countries including Japan, France, United Kingdom, Italy and the United States. The graphics are quite impressive, consisting of tight tracks in urban and countryside environments.
Asides from the straight-forward race mode, the game also contains some entertaining challenges. The game also includes multiplayer modes that support up to 4 players, including "Bomb tag", a time-attack mode that enables players to avoid being tagged with a bomb before it blows up, and "Tomato Frenzy", which arms players with tomatoes to shoot at targets (or their competition) while they race. Online battle modes are also available via Nintendo Wi-Fi connection on Wii and via ad-hoc party for PSP.
