Wii Speak Hits Stores in December

Just when we thought Nintendo couldn’t push the bar any further for the Wii, they come with another innovative idea to use the console to its full potential. According to Dailygame.net, there will be a new channel called the Wii Chat Channel coming to the Nintendo Wii in December. One of the first new games that will utilize this new feature will be Animal Crossing: City Folk, which will have live in-game chatting for players!

Need more info you ask? Well, the Wii Speak Channel will give friends and family members a chance to chat not only in the game, but outside of it as well. Think of it as instant messaging, but through the Wii and using your voice. You can chat with friends and neighbors down the street or with relatives around the world if they too have the Wii Speak Channel and the Wii console. In addition, everyone will be able to see each other’s Mii’s as they speak to one another!

Of course this new feature is not fully functional without the accessory. The Wii Speak accessory will come with a microphone that sits on top of or below the television. The only thing that users will have to do in order to chat with other people on the channel is to trade their Friend Codes with others so they can chat with one another using Wii Speak. The Wii Speak accessory is available for the price of $29.99 and $69.99 for those who want to get it in a bundle with Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Oh! And don’t worry about getting charged for downloading the Wii Speak channel. A code will come with the accessory which will let players download the channel from the Wii Shop Channel FOR FREE!
