Wii and DS Dominate Hardware Sales Charts for August
The NPD group has released its monthly summary of hardware and software sales for the month of August. Both the Nintendo Wii and DS continue to sell in massive quantities in the Unites States, with each machine moving around half a million units at retail last month. On the software side, Madden was the big story this summer, as gamers snatched up around 2 million copies combined accross the Xbox 360, PS3, and PS2 platforms. Wii fit came in at number 4, with a respectable 400,000 copies sold.
