What If Nintendo Released Mario Kart For iPhone, iPad

Nintendo is known to be one of the best video game developers in the world, pumping out tremendous franchises and gaming experiences for decades. What if they took one of their most popular franchises, and released it on the Apple iPad and iPhone.

Nintendo has enjoyed a great deal of success with the Mario Kart franchise, dating all the way back to the Super Nintendo back in the early 1990s.

This expanded in the years ahead with the unbelievable release of Mario Kart 64, and was followed up with Mario Kart Double Dash, and the eventual release of Mario Kart on the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo Wii, and now the Nintendo 3DS with Mario Kart 7.

Nintendo has always been big in casual gaming with the type of game franchises they release, including the Mario platforms, as well as this particular franchise.

Mario Kart, if it was ever released on the iPhone and iPad, would be enjoyed worldwide by the tens of millions of iPhone and iPad users.

The game would clearly be able to look as good as it did on the Nintendo 64, with a Mario Kart 64 port being most likely.

Imagine, Mario Kart 64 with support of the gyroscope technology on the iPhone or iPad, with online support via GameCenter.

Nintendo could easily charge $19.99 for the App on the App Store, and it would most likely end up being not only the most popular App on the store, but also the highest-grossing in no time.

In-app purchases of new course packs and new characters would also reap major financial gains for the video game maker.

Would Nintendo ever do this, probably not. But we can dream, can't we?
