How to unlock all of the hidden characters in Mario Kart 7 3DS. Unlocking all of the hidden characters in Mario Kart 7 requires you to come in first place in the varying grand prix events, here is the full list of the events you need to come in first to obtain the given characters.

Wiggler - Leaf Cup 150cc
Queen Bee - Banana Cup 150cc
Lakitu - Lightning Cup 150cc
Honey Queen - Banana Cup 150cc
Shy Guy - Shell Cup 150cc
Wario - Flower Cup 150cc
Rosalina - Star Cup 150cc
Metal Mario - Special Cup 150cc
Daisy - Mushroom Cup 150cc

Beyond the hidden characters, here are also several golden kart parts which you can unlock in the game. These can be obtained by completing varying tasks within the game, we have included them below.

Golden Wheels - Complete all cups with a 1-Star or better rank, including all of the cc ranks and mirror mode.
Gold Steering Wheel - Using the 1st person gyro controls 8 out of 10 races, play 100 matches.
Gold Glider - Complete 10,000 coins, or play with 100 people via StreetPass.
Gold Standard Body - Collect 20,000 coins.

Mirror Mode can be unlocked, as it has been able to be unlocked in past kart games by completing all 150cc cups in first place or Gold ranking.
