Strong Bad Episode 2 Launches on WiiWare

The second episode in Strongbad's Cool Game for Attractive People from Telltale Games will be available for download from the Wii shop channel starting today at 9 PM pacific time. Telltale has a history of creating successful episodic video game content, the Sam and Max series being perhaps their best-known work. Strong Bad's virtual outing on the Wii plays much in the same manner, fans are given the option of downloading short interactive segments of about 2-3 hours in length, which play out in a linear fashion dotted with on-screen puzzles.

Strong Bad, for the 5 people online who haven't heard, is one of the best independently-produced flash comics on the web. The cartoon follows the mundane adventures of characters like Homestar Runner, a dim-witted star athlete, his hippie girlfriend Marzipan, and his jive-talking, wrestler mask-wearing pal Strong Bad.

The first episode in the series could hardly be called a "game", and we would have liked more opportunities to freely explore the world of Strong Badia, but still, for fans of the cartoon these episodes are almost a must-buy. Each comes packaged with a load of SB e-mails and a retro-style video game, which do add value to their 1000 point price tag. At 40 MB per episode, however, Wii owners are going to have a hard time collecting all of them in one place unless Nintendo offers a bigger storage solution soon.
