Nintendo Stifle Supply in Preparation for Holidays

Wired.com's games blog Game Life muses that the reduced sales of the Wii and NDS was most likely due to Nintendo stifling supply. Either to meet the release of Metroid in the States and Europe or to prepare for the coming holiday season.

Whatever Nintendo's intentions, it is clear from Media Create's hardware sales figures for the week of 27th August to 2nd September, that they're still topping the competition particularly through the NDS.

1. NDS - 94,339
2. WII - 39,371
3. PSP - 22,196
4. PS3 - 18,068
5. PS2 - 14,280
6. 360 - 1,635
7. GBA - 474
8. NGC - 73
