Metal Gear Solid is one of the most popular and profitable franchises in all of gaming, and one would have to agree that the franchise has delivered some of the greatest gaming experiences in the history of the industry.

Hideo Kojima is known for his attention to detail, his amazing delivery of complex and riveting stories, and ultimately his presentation of engrossing gaming experiences.

Konami and Hideo Kojima are now ready to expand on the franchise yet again as they are going to be bringing Metal Gear Solid SNake Eater to the Nintendo 3DS.

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D is going to be a revamped version of the highly-popular Sony PS2 title.

The PS2 release of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater is still considered to be one of the better releases in the franchise on the Sony console, and will be fully-updated with plenty of new features to take full advantage of the capabilities of the Nintendo handheld.

This is a great example of the support Nintendo now has with 3rd party developers and publishers in the gaming industry, as this shows they have major franchises onboard for not only the 3DS, but also for the upcoming Wii U release.

The game will make full use of the 3DS Circle Pad Pro accessory for those who want to use it, and will also be fully upgraded to support 3D.

The game will utilize both 3DS screens, utilizing the bottom screen for inventory while the gameplay itself will be on the top screen.

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D is set to hit the Nintendo 3DS on February 21st in the U.S. and March 8th in the U.K.
