Lets think this over for a sec. The man can roll a tank single handed, and yet he gets stuck to the deck by a shot from her ice cannon? In order to create the amount of ice needed to do that he would have to sit still and wait for her to finish icing him for like 10 minutes. We are not talking about a space pirate here, where talking Master Chief, a man who wiped out an entire alien race of zombies. While I'm on the subject of strength, why does he not punch her once instead of shooting her in the helmet when he has her in close combat? Everyone knows how powerful his melee is. If a shot of a weak weapon like the assault rifle does that much damage to her (which it wouldn't) a single melee would have decapitated her. Furthermore the plasma grenade would have killed her with her shields already low and having been stuck to her ribs.
Now on to more nitpicking, Where exactly did the plasma grenage come from? It wasn't listed in his arsenal. Why is Master Chief listed with four guns when he only carries three at most? Where the heck is this control room, that they feel the cold vacuum of space, when the Halo's control rooms are on the rings where there is plenty of atmosphere? How does Samus survive this "cold vacuum of space" when her suit has been so badly breached? What engine room does she leave the bombs in? Halo has no engine room. Its a giant weapon, not a space ship. Finally ,what escape pod on the top deck? When did a Halo have a top deck? And why would there be any escape pods on the thing? It is meant to destroy all life in the galaxy big enough to be flood food. There is not an escape pod fast enough to get you away from the ring's area of effect. The rings were made as a weapon of last resort, and as such an escape pod serves no practical purpose. After all who needs one when they are dead? Nothing adds up!
If you want to do justice to Samus, give her cred for her abilities, as she was completely outmatched the way you wrote it. By all accounts unless she has hidden powers like not needing oxygen to breathe, she should have died several times over, and that's with John coming in armed with his assault rifle instead of say, The sniper rifle, or a full on RPG and Spartan Laser. Anyways, if you want to see a good matching af Samus and a Spatan II than look up Monty Oum. He did a fantastic job of matching them up with his short film "Haloid".

You forget the part where if Samus' ribs are exposed she is already dead as her suit is breached in space. Master Chief is going to grab her and not just let him blow his head off. Oh and the whole "finds an escape pod is lame". Nice try but I hardly think your little story is a definitive. Nerds will argue for years to come.

I agree with asd.
First; the classic Samus Aran vs. Master Chief has been going on for YEARS now. I really like both characters, but if I were to choose, I'd side with the Master Chief.
Second; the winner varies depending on the site you go to.
It's the person writing the story that matters. (although it SHOULD be based on facts.)
On the Chief's side; he elimiminated an entire world, and 2 alien races.
On Samus's side; she took out countless creatures 10 times her size, and in metroid prime 2, destroyed a whole planet. Also, she beat an evil clone of herself...6+ times in 2 games.
Who will I side with? Master Chief. lets face it! he has ENERGY SHIELDS!!! Samus doesn't. He has enhanced nuero-cybernetic abilities. Samus can turn herself into a ball (although the power bomb is pretty cool...).
Third; asd is right: "Haloid" is awesome. look it up on youtube.

what? Samus also has energy shields. if we're talking Samus at full strength, she has 10 or more energy tanks powering those shields. as in, she can take a lot of punishment before going down.

let's look at Samus' other abilities: multiple particle-beam based weapons, including ice, wave, and plasma; missiles and super missles; maru maru sphere bombs and power bombs; speed boost that can obliterate walls several feet thick; the screw attack, which deflects pretty much any projectile weapon and enemy; incredibly high jumping ability, allowing Samus to punish enemies from up high; and superior agility thanks to her Chozo blood.

i like Halo too, but Master Chief is in for one serious beatdown if he goes up against Samus.
