Monster Hunter Tri Announced for Wii

m3tri-t.jpg

Capcom announces the Westerm release of the previously Japan-only Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii for 2010. The popular collect-a-thon game features four-player online co-op, 2-player split-screen and new underwater environments.

Monster Hunter Tri's online and offline cooperative modes allows up to four players to play on a single TV for select quests. Players playing single player mode will be accompanied by AI controlled hunting partner Cha-Cha. Not only does he brings tracking and trapping skills to your party, his mad cha-cha dance skills will surely dazzle and distract monsters while you sneak in for the death blow (Note: the last bit is pure conjecture based on too many late nights zoned out on Dancing with the Stars).

With sales of the series reaching 10 million units, Monster Hunter has become Capcom's juggernaut franchise. After a stilted launch in America, will this new Wii title be able to finally breach the wallets of western audiences? Find out in 2010 when the game gets released.
