Dead Rising Wii / 360 Comparison Video
As third party publishers begin to pay increasing amounts of attention to the Wii, there will undoubtedly be some growing pains. The most straight-forward approach is simply to pare down existing games and slap motion controls on them for sale on the Nintendo machine. The less powerful Wii will not allow the same level of eye candy present in the original version of the game, but that shouldn't matter right? We'll let you decide.
A recent video comparison shows what Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop looks and plays like on the Wii, compared with the Xbox 360 version. In one sense, the Wii game is not that bad. Most of the core elements survived the transition intact: zombies, weapons, and mayhem. However, viewers will notice that there is considerably less mayhem present on the Wii title, as limitations in the hardware prevent us from driving or slaughtering countless hordes of zombies. The most enemies you will see on screen at one time can usually be counted on one hand. Does this limit the enjoyability of Dead Rising on the Wii, or do the motion controls make up for the shortcomings? Let us know in the comments below.
