Konami Has 4 3DS Games in Development for Launch

When the 3DS launches in Europe and North America next year, it will be accompained by some major third-party support. These games will be joined by all of the first party usual suspects, which include Pilotwings and Animal Crossing. But one of our favorite franchises, Metal Gear Solid, will get a new installment to coincide with the release of the handheld. The publisher has confirmed its support for the new hardware with four original titles, including the Hideo Kojima-developed Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater; a new Pro Evolution Soccer title; classic run'n'gun shooter, Contra and arcade favourite, Frogger. We think that Contra and Metal Gear solid show particular promise.

We don't yet have any specific details on gameplay, but Konami will be releasing further information on the four titles in the coming months. "We are delighted to confirm that Konami has four major titles in development for Nintendo's 3DS system," offered Kunio Neo, President for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "The chance to explore popular franchises such as Metal Gear Solid, Pro Evolution Soccer, Contra and Frogger within a 3D realm is an exciting opportunity, and we cannot wait to share more news in the coming months." Um, yeah, we just said that. Let's just gaze at a screenshot from Snake Eater 3DS while we wait for more details:
